OMG, I think I just figured out the numbering system! And it makes soooo much sense!
All chssis numbers in the 800's are actually 0800's, meaning they were built in '08 (2008). All 900's are 0900's, built in 2009. (Which makes sense because every new car last year was a 900). And now all the new cars this year, including McMurray's are 1000's! (2010!) I think thats really it! And this puts to rest the theory of double chassis. They are the same car, just rebuild! So happy I got to the bottom of that. _________________ Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway. |

Finally!

Juan Pablo Montoya and No. 42 Target Team
Montoya at Martinsville: Montoya has completed all but one lap of competition (3011) in his six starts at Martinsville Speedway. The Colombian-born racer has led 46 laps, has one top-five, two top-10 finishes and zero DNF’s at the .526-mile oval. His best finish of third came in October of last year.
Last Weekend: Juan Pablo Montoya and the Target team had a strong start to the weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway by posting top-five lap times in each practice session and qualifying in the sixth position. Montoya lead four times for a total of 29 laps at the “World’s Fastest Half-Mile” and was credited as the WIX Filters Lap Leader for the day. After spending the first 300 laps in the top-10, a 13-car pile-up on lap 342 would force the No. 42 Target Chevrolet to finish in the 26th-position just two laps down.
Agent of Change: MTV Latin America and the Inter-American development Bank recognized Juan Pablo Montoya for his charitable work with the Formula Smiles Foundation presenting him with a “Chiuku” award. This award was created to recognize those “Agents of Change” who are committed to the betterment of their communities and use their influence to become a catalyst for effecting change and spreading their message all over the world. “Chiuku” is a fictional creature, originally from the Amazon mystical Chiukotek tribe, with a “special power” that gives the ability to speak the universal language of music and communicate with humans to invite them to become “Agents of Change”. The special award presentation will appear on MTV Latin America’s screens in one-minute spots over the next two weeks.
Personal Record: Montoya carried on his streak of top-10 starting positions last week at Bristol Motor Speedway. The No. 42 has started in the top-10 in all five 2010 events, marking a career best for Montoya in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. His qualifying efforts have been eighth (Daytona), second (Fontana), 10th (Las Vegas), third (Atlanta) and sixth (Bristol) resulting in an average starting position of 5.8 heading into Martinsville this weekend.
Let the Voting Begin: The Sprint All-Star Fan Vote launched in 2004 as a way to bring one more deserving driver into the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race to compete for the $1 million payout. Voting begins on Wednesday, March 24 and runs through Saturday, May 22, ending one hour prior to the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race. To vote for Juan Pablo Montoya text “vote” to 7777 on your Sprint phone, visit NASCAR.com or visit a voting booth in the Sprint Experience mobile display unit at an upcoming race.
Target Fast Fact: Did you know that since 1946 Target has given five percent of their income to support and enrich the communities they serve? Today that equals more than $3 million every week to support education, the arts, social services and volunteerism.
CHASSIS INFO
No. 1 McDonald's Chevrolet (NSCS): Chassis #1007. Kevin “Bono” Manion has decided to bring chassis #1007. This is a brand new chassis.
No. 42 Target Chevrolet (NSCS): Chassis #1005. Crew chief Brian Pattie and the Target Team will bring chassis #1005 this weekend. This is a brand new chassis. |

Have got no idea what to expect this weekend given how this season has gone so far - there's been nothing wrong with the car speed all year but its not really counted for much apart from the 20 bonus points for laps led.
Really, really, really hope to goodness that Juan and everyone on the #42 team can somehow break this dreadful cycle of results once and for all and avoid the now customary mid-race disaster....or at least if it does strike, stage the sort of magical recovery he managed in this race last year when he recovered from 30th and 2 laps down to a lead lap 12th in the last quarter of the race.
There's still a long, long way to go until Richmond, but Martinsville should by rights be a banker track for Juan - statistically it is one of his very best, much like Atlanta. He needs to make that advantage count, particularly with a few bogey tracks like Richmond, Darlington not too far off. Don't want to be going to tracks like those needing big points to stay in contention. |

Martinsville IS his best track besides Infineon. _________________ Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway. |

Well, as the sponsor for the race, we need some fast pain relief from the last race. I'd be happy with a top ten right about now. _________________ My personal site: www.turboboost.netfirms.com |

3rd quick in practice right now. Juan's averages look too good to be true. He's run 5 more laps than JJ, but his average is only 0.07 slower. _________________ Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway. |

Something lucky for a change, Juan will be the final top-35 driver to qualify this afternoon.
The unlucky part, its raining in Martinsville according to jayski, so qualifying may be washed out, putting Juan 22nd on the grid. _________________ Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway. |

I can't ever recall a year starting like this. At least not for any of the drivers I've ever followed. Qualifying is rained out, Juan'll start 22nd. _________________ Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway. |

Not really too disastrous, Juan qualified 21st there in the Chase race last year and still was leading well before half distance before finishing 3rd. The car as usual looked pretty stout in practice, but the 22nd starting position only proves that all that car speed has counted for little so far this year. |
