Juan is usually pretty good at Bristol, had a solid top-10 in the spring last year and had a stunning race in August, up to 2nd late in the race chasing Kyle down, before a puncture with about 20-30 laps to go ruined everything (and made the last few races before the Chase highly stressful!)

As last week, just need another clean trouble-free run like we had yesterday really, Brian's done an awesome job to have such a great fleet of cars in the shop these days, meaning that no matter what type of track we go to, the #42 is a contender. So we just need clean runs and get those points on the board.

Love Bristol, and don't forget we will see the spoiler back on the cars.

It looks better for the eye, but I hope it will also be beneficial for the racing.

Larry Mac says the spoiler will come back at Martinsville, makeing this the last race with the wing... Wink

Carl is only on probation for the next 3 races, not suspended. Wink

But Carl doesn't know how to pass cars respectfully, so he'll just sit at the back, I bet we're past him in points after these three races.

But as Larry Mac says, "you don't want to be the first one to find out what happens if you break probation, because it won't be pretty"

Anyone else care to give any thoughts on the new spoiler for Martinsville? Im wondering if this will suit JPMs driving style better. He did seem to have far more success in the older car, before they switched to the CoT. However, the CoT is so very different than the previous generation (wing or no wing) it is difficult to make any predictions.

I'm not sure, which has me worried. I know he can run well right now and don't want anything to change and mess it up... That being said, at the end of the year, I could be crediting the spoiler for a championship... So I'll reseve judgement I guess.

Not sure about the spoiler - I agree with Liam that at the moment Juan is running strong week in week out and the spoiler is a spanner in the works that could scupper that.

However, I think Brian is extremely good at understanding what Juan wants from the car, and it must be said that every "new" chassis built under Brian's watch has been a jet. The consistent top-10 form at a wide range of tracks cannot be by accident, it can only come through understanding and knowledge. There's no tangible reason therefore why the spoiler should hurt the team's performance, if anything it's more likely to have the opposite effect.

As an aside, I believe that Juan tested a car with the spoiler at Disney World in January (I think J-Mac tweeted a picture of a spoilered car in the hauler).
